Collections AssistantThe Collections Assistant works with borrowers to collect debts owed to Alpine Bank in a variety of streams.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.Responsible for, but not limited to, collecting on consumer loans, credit cards, ready reserve lines of credit, and demand deposit accounts (DDAs).Processes garnishments and levies, summons and subpoenas, domestic collections and maintains the overdraft privilege product.Serves as point of contact for customers, making and answering phone calls, preparing and mailing out letters, inputting notes and messages on accounts and researching credit disputes for consumer loans, credit cards, ready reserve lines of credit and DDAs.Processes legal notices by researching and gathering requested documents then answers accordingly.Verifies information and sends requested funds either by check or wire transfer for domestic collections.Maintains the overdraft privilege product which involves understanding and complying with Regulation E, ensuring all accounts have the correct code, and completing maintenance.Performs other duties as assigned.Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.Job QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Ability:Ability to make customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships.Strong detail orientation and multi-tasking skills.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Ability to be a self-starter, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Silverlake is helpful.Education or Formal Training:High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) equivalent required.Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license is required.Experience:Experience in collections and/or bookkeeping is preferred.Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis.Working ConditionsWorking Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some travel for training could be expected.Physical Activities:These are representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required; it would require the ability to reach for and lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
