Senior Communications Manager

Communications Sr. Manager

Our client is looking for a Communications Sr. Manager to join the Communications Team. The successful candidate will develop and execute storytelling programs, pitch stories across technology, mainstream, consumer, and business press, draft compelling communications materials, organize press briefings and demonstrations, and collaborate closely with cross functional partners to support coordinated campaigns, events, and product launches.

Location: San Francisco, CA or Santa Monica, CA. Ideally 3–4 days onsite when needed.

What You'll Do:

• Drive proactive product communications initiatives across the client, including communication and connection features, subscription offerings, safety and family products, client's Map and location-sharing experiences, and consumer AI innovations that reinforce client's role in helping people connect and communicate.
• Develop and execute storytelling programs that highlight how client's products deepen real-world relationships, empower self-expression, enhance user safety, and introduce innovative AI-powered experiences for our global community.
• Pitch stories across technology, mainstream, consumer, and business press to support key announcements and ongoing product momentum.
• Draft clear, compelling communications materials including newsroom posts, messaging documents, reactive talking points, etc. that communicate product updates and milestones.
• Organize press briefings and demonstrations, and prepare spokespeople for media interviews and speaking engagements.
• Collaborate closely with cross functional partners (product, design, marketing, legal, policy, partnerships, etc.) on coordinated campaigns, events, and product launches.
• Partner with agency teams to support media strategy and execution.
• Work across the Communications team to measure impact, track coverage, and refine strategies based on performance and insights.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent relationships with reporters across mainstream, technology, consumer, business, and hardware beats, including the ability to shape and manage complex platform and product stories.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and manage a wide variety of partner relationships.
• An eloquent verbal communicator with superb written skills and fastidious attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience supporting consumer technology product/feature launches.
• Experience supporting communication and connection platforms, subscription products, safety initiatives, location-based experiences, or consumer-facing AI products is highly desirable.
• Experience partnering with global teams to support coordinated communications efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience working in a product communications role or related field.
