NEBH is actively seeking a staff Physical Therapist for our outpatient location in Dedham, Massachusetts. This setting caters to patients with general orthopedic injuries, post‑operative diagnoses as well as patients with acute and chronic spine pain. Principal Duties and Essential Functions Department Specific Responsibilities: Responsibilities and Functions Upon notification of a written referral, initiates the patient care process of assessment of the patient's functional status and needs. Utilizes this assessment to formulate a treatment plan of care to meet the patient's needs, including documentation of realistic, measurable goals. Implements the plan of care to meet the established goals within a reasonable timeframe in accordance with established Physical Therapy modalities and procedures, with awareness of body mechanics and safety and infection control issues. Reassesses patient's progress relative to achievement of established goals and recognizes need to implement changes evidenced by documentation of patient's response to treatment. Understands role in the process of discharge planning and continuing care through interaction with patient, family members, employer, and other members of the health care team as appropriate while actively participating in rounds or patient care team conference. Promotes the patient's active involvement in treatment through patient education and instruction of specific treatment procedures for reinforcement of program, prevention of further injury and to facilitate “ownership” of health attitude. Develops educational materials for distribution as indicated. Follows the department's Documentation Guidelines and maintains updated records which include completing all evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, daily treatment charge sheets, and flow sheets thoroughly and in a timely fashion. Participates in the Clinical education program through the supervision and instruction of affiliating Physical Therapy students. Supervises Rehab Aide and Physical Therapist Assistant in performance of assigned tasks, when indicated. Participates in staff meetings and in‑service education programs both inside and outside of this institution. Participates in new program development and implementation for the Rehabilitation Services Department to maintain high quality standards of patient care. Performs other related duties as assigned. Completes annual safety review and personal job performance assessment. Plans time away from work appropriately: Arrives and leaves at designated times. Uses unplanned earned time appropriately. Interpersonal Skills Accepts constructive feedback with appropriate change in behavior or performance. Demonstrates a professional attitude in demeanor and appearance. Organizes time and completes assignments within a given time frame. Communication Skills Demonstrates good verbal skills in giving and receiving information. Demonstrates ability to listen to and to understand a conflicting viewpoint. Demonstrates ability to effectively express one's ideas in a discussion of professional issues. Demonstrates ability to write clear and concise patient evaluations and progress notes in a timely fashion. Demonstrates the ability to adjust communication method to meet the needs of the learner. Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree BSPT (minimum requirement, but new grads require DPT for licensure) Required Work Experience 1-3 years Licensure/Certification/Registration Physical Therapist State of Massachusetts, Every 2 years Basic Life Support Certification Qualifications Computer Literacy: Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web‑based applications. Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers. Oral Communications: Ability to verbally communicate complex concepts in English and address sensitive situations, resolve conflicts, negotiate, motivate and persuade others. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas. Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group(s) by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner. Pay Range $39.50 - $55.31 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
