About the Role:

The Shipping Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of outgoing shipments within the organization. This position is responsible for preparing, packaging, and labeling products for shipment, while maintaining compliance with company standards and shipping regulations. The Shipping Associate collaborates closely with customer service and other team members to verify order accuracy and manage shipping documentation. By maintaining organized shipping records and tracking shipments, this role supports timely delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with shipping software or inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds safely.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and carriers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role.
• Familiarity with common shipping carriers and their requirements (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS).
• Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in shipping and handling.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and package products securely for shipment according to company guidelines.
• Label shipments accurately with appropriate shipping information and documentation.
• Operate shipping software and equipment to process orders and generate shipping labels.
• Schedule and communicate with carriers to arrange timely pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain clean and organized shipping areas to promote safety and efficiency.
• Track shipments and update records to provide status reports as needed.
• Comply with all safety regulations and company policies related to shipping and handling.

The Shipping Associate utilizes attention to detail daily to verify order accuracy and ensure proper labeling, which prevents shipment errors and customer dissatisfaction. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple shipments simultaneously and maintaining accurate records. Excellent communication skills are required with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and resolve issues promptly as well as with customer service. Safe handling techniques are applied regularly to manage packaging and move shipments efficiently. Shipping software and technology supports streamlined processing and tracking of orders, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
