About the Position

Dri Tech is seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Shop Foreman to lead daily shop operations and oversee the fabrication of metal products and components.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on metal fabrication experience, proven leadership abilities, and experience operating, programming, setting up, or overseeing programmable metal fabrication equipment . The Foreman will be responsible for coordinating shop personnel, managing workflow, maintaining quality and production standards, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily metal fabrication shop operations.
• Lead, assign, and monitor work performed by fabrication shop employees.
• Plan and prioritize production based on project requirements and deadlines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and fabrication plans.
• Oversee cutting, forming, bending, punching, drilling, welding, fitting, assembly, and other metal fabrication processes.
• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and/or oversee programmable and CNC and AXYZ metal fabrication equipment .
• Work with equipment utilizing computerized controls, programming, automated cutting, bending, punching, forming, or related fabrication processes.
• Assist with programming, setup, tooling, and production adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment, programming, and fabrication issues and determine appropriate solutions.
• Ensure proper material selection, measurements, layouts, tolerances, and finished-product specifications.
• Inspect work throughout the fabrication process to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain production schedules and ensure projects are completed on time.
• Monitor material usage, inventory, tooling, and equipment needs.
• Train, mentor, and provide direction to shop employees.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Enforce company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, purchasing, field personnel, and other departments.
• Perform hands-on fabrication and equipment operation when necessary.
• Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency, production processes, quality, and equipment utilization.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in metal fabrication .
• Previous experience as a shop foreman, lead fabricator, supervisor, or equivalent leadership position preferred.
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and equipment.
• Experience with programmable and/or CNC and AXYZ metal fabrication machinery .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Ability to understand and work with computerized machine controls and fabrication programs.
• Strong knowledge of measurements, layouts, tolerances, tooling, and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot fabrication equipment and production problems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and production priorities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and meeting deadlines.
• OSHA 30 Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience programming or modifying programs for CNC and AXYZ programmable fabrication equipment.
• Experience with automated or computer-controlled cutting, bending, punching, forming, or related machinery.
• Welding and/or fabrication certifications.
• Experience working with structural steel, sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel, or other metals.
• Experience with production scheduling and shop management.
• Experience training and developing fabrication personnel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and work in a fabrication-shop environment for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate and work around metal fabrication machinery.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to perform hands-on fabrication duties when required.
