Job Title: RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year current acute care hospital orthopedic experience Description: This position is for a travel RN in orthopedic surgery. The unit has a total of 44 beds. Staff on the unit includes RNs and PCTs. Patient ratios are generally 1:5 for RNs during both day and night shifts, with a maximum of 1:6 if necessary. The unit is equipped with lifts for mobility, chest tubes, Hemavac drains, wound vacs, JP drains, PCA pumps, and Foley catheters. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates with orthopedic or trauma backgrounds are preferred, although medical/surgical experience is also acceptable. Typical procedures performed include drain removal and PICC line placements with the infusion team. The ideal candidate will be positive, flexible, and collaborative.
