Physical Therapist Orthopedics

Job Summary:

The Outpatient Orthopedics Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with post-operative orthopedic conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and spine rehabilitation needs. The therapist develops individualized treatment plans, delivers evidence-based care including manual therapy, educates patients and families, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to promote patient recovery and wellness. Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat orthopedic patients including post-operative cases, total joint replacements, neck and back pain, spine rehabilitation, sports injuries, and general musculoskeletal conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical evidence.
• Deliver one-on-one patient care using manual therapy techniques as appropriate.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, recovery, and wellness strategies.
• Document patient care and progress accurately using electronic medical records (EMR).
• Collaborate with an experienced rehabilitation team to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in community outreach and wellness initiatives to promote health and rehabilitation awareness.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current Maryland Physical Therapy license or eligibility for licensure.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical skills in orthopedic evaluation and treatment.
• Effective communication and patient education abilities.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy settings.
• Manual therapy experience and proficiency.
• Ability to participate in mentorship and continuous professional growth activities.
