Cashier - Florence

Cashier Position

We are looking for an efficient, courteous Cashier who possesses excellent customer service skills. The Cashier will scan the customer's selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers about products, promotions, or item location. You will also respond to complaints, process refunds or exchanges of items, and maintain a clean workspace.

To succeed as a Cashier, you should have a strong work ethic and high level of accuracy. You should be responsible, attentive to customer needs, and committed to providing excellent service.

Responsibilities include providing a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service, processing sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customers' purchases, resolving customer issues and answering questions, bagging purchases if needed, itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, departments, taxable and nontaxable items, and operating a cash register, entering price changes by referring to price sheets and special sale bulletins, collecting payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and making change for cash customers, verifying credit acceptance by reviewing and recording driver's license number and operating credit card authorization systems, providing pricing information by answering questions, maintaining checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes, maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education and skills include being 18 years of age or older, having a friendly and positive attitude, excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to adapt quickly to new policies and procedures in a fast-paced retail environment, basic math skills, attention to detail, a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and 0-1 years of retail experience preferred.

Hours and compensation include being able to work a flexible schedule: evenings, weekends, and holidays required, part-time hours available, and $12/hour or commensurate with experience.
