Automation Developer
VirtualVocations
Working remotely on a long-term contract basis, the Automation Developer will design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities. Key responsibilities Design and implement automation solutions across diverse infrastructure environments Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify and document automation processes Troubleshoot complex technical issues and mentor team members in automation best practices Required qualifications 5+ years of experience with Ansible, including designing playbooks and roles 5+ years of professional Python development experience, particularly with automation frameworks 10+ years of experience in writing Bash/Shell scripts for Linux/Unix environments 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or automation engineering roles Strong understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and version control systems
