Elementary School Assistant Principal & Instructional Leader

Position Details Position Type: Administrative / Assistant Principal Date Posted: 5/22/2026 Location: District Wide Job Summary To assist and support principal in implementing the District's strategic goal of establishing an instructional vision and focused plan for improving student achievement in addition to providing support for instructional staff in strengthening their instructional practices while building strong partnerships with families and the community. Responsibilities Ability to identify and describe effective instructional practices and provide feedback. Knowledge of appropriate coaching techniques and professional development to instructional staff to improve the quality of instruction throughout the school. Ability to prepare and manage a school budget. Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements. Ability to analyze, interpret and use data for decision making. Ability to objectively manage employee performance and growth through feedback and coaching. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of educational theory and practices, including a focus on standards‑based instruction. Ability to use data for purposeful planning and problem solving and as a basis for decision making. Ability to read and interpret applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures. Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Skill in interacting and communicating effectively with multiple audiences, including staff, parents, students, and community members. Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications. Knowledge and understanding of all positions supervised. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize activities related to assignments. Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to tolerate highly stressful situations. Ability to delegate and monitor assignments. Qualifications Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related educational field from an accredited educational institution. Three (3) to five (5) years of successful instructional, social work, guidance, or administrative experience. Certification in Administration and Supervision or Educational Leadership. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening. Salary Information: Administrative. Assistant Principal Salary Schedule. Two hundred twenty days worked per year (11 months).
