Job Summary

Keeps office building and/or work area in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
• Empties trash and garbage containers.
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
• Stocks snack and soda machines.
• Performs limited grounds maintenance.
• Replaces air conditioner filters.
• Assists in sanitation control and checks safety hazards.
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

No prior experience or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
