Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/27/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 27, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with a compact or MD license and at least one prior travel assignment to support a wound salvage program requiring 2 years of recent experience.Details\n \n Medical Surgical unit setting\n Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM\n Supports a wound salvage program treating patients with wounds and PVD, including serial OR procedures, wound cultures, wound vacs, and pain management\n Float required within skillset as needed\n Every 3rd weekend required\n Patient ratio of 1:5-6\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license - Compact or Maryland (MD) license required\n Current BLS certification required\n NIHSS certification preferred\n Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 7 years\n Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment\n Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, PICC line management, and tracheostomy care\n Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred\n Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and CVA patient care\n Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications preferred\n Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and rapid response/code team activation\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care with a focus on wound management and limb preservation\n Participate in wound salvage program protocols, which may include coordination for OR procedures and, in some cases, amputations\n Flu vaccine required for all employees\n Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a reduced rate\n Previous MedStar employees must have a separation period of at least one year before returning as a traveler\n No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-762470.
