Case Mix: Emergency Medicine cases including trauma, medical, surgical, and pediatric transfers

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department: 13 ED beds
Trauma Level: Level III
EMR System: Cerner
Specialty Backup Available: Cath Lab, CT Scan, ICU, MRI, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Management/Psychiatry, OB/GYN, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Urology, Trauma
Support Staff Available: APPs, RNs

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes, cross-credentialing at Doctors Hospital of Laredo, DHL Saunders, DHL South, and ER Wright Ranch

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: BC in ABEM, ABFM, or ABIM
Licenses: Active Texas Medical License; DEA required (may be in process)
DEA / CDS: Active DEA required
Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS
Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide emergency medical care to patients in a Level III trauma center.
Manage trauma, medical, and surgical emergencies; transfer complex pediatric cases to higher-level facilities.
Collaborate with APP coverage and specialist backup (Cath Lab, ICU, OB/GYN, etc.).
Perform emergency procedures including intubation, central line placement, suturing, and resuscitation.
Maintain compliance with hospital credentialing requirements and ensure clean file status.
