Chief Estimator

We are currently partnered with one of New England's premier General Contractors in their search for a Chief Estimator to join a rapidly growing preconstruction team. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected builder with a century-long reputation for delivering some of the region's most complex and recognizable projects. The firm continues to experience significant growth driven by recent project awards across public, infrastructure, energy, higher education, healthcare, and mission-critical sectors. The Chief Estimator will serve as one of the senior leaders within the estimating organization, working directly with executive leadership to shape pursuit strategy, oversee major estimates, mentor staff, and support the company's continued expansion throughout the Northeast. What You'll Be Working On Public & Municipal Construction Higher Education District Energy & Central Utility Plants Mission Critical & Data Centers Many of the projects exceed $100M in value and involve highly technical construction scopes, complex phasing, and sophisticated building systems. The Opportunity This role offers a unique blend of executive visibility and hands-on leadership. The successful candidate will help lead preconstruction efforts while influencing strategic decisions regarding project pursuits, staffing, subcontractor relationships, and long-term growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Leading complex conceptual and hard-bid estimates Managing and mentoring a team of estimators and discipline specialists Developing estimating strategy and bid pursuit plans Collaborating with operations, project management, and executive leadership Supporting business development and client relationship efforts Driving continuous improvement across preconstruction processes Ideal Background 15+ years of construction estimating experience Previous experience as a Chief Estimator, Lead Estimator, Director of Estimating, or Senior Estimator ready for the next step Experience with large commercial, institutional, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, or public-sector projects Strong leadership and team development capabilities Proven ability to manage large, complex estimates and pursuit strategies Bachelor's degree preferred Annual Discretionary Bonus Hybrid Work Schedule (2 Remote Days Per Week) 401(k) with Company Match 12 Paid Holidays Long-Term Career Growth with an Industry Leader Why This Role Stands Out Few opportunities offer the combination of project complexity, organizational stability, growth trajectory, and leadership influence available here.
