About the Role – Server Restaurant servers are responsible for submitting guest menu selections and presenting these food and beverage preferences. The right person will gain menu knowledge and give recommendations from a compilation of cuisine and drink offerings. A Hyatt restaurant server engages in casual conversation and creates the restaurant experience through style and service attributes. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight. Support in other F&B outlets, including Drift and Market, is expected as needed. Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, is required. Other duties include general restaurant preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment. Experience as a server in a restaurant is preferred. Wage Information The hourly rate for this position is $17.75. This is the pay rate for this position that Hyatt Regency La Jolla reasonably expects to pay. Qualifications A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment Good communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift, push, pull a moderate weight Flexible schedule availability: including mornings, weekends and holidays Ability to multitask and work under pressure and prioritize. Food knowledge and restaurant station set‑up preferred. Must be able and willing to obtain a California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire (training and associated costs will be provided and covered by the company in accordance with state law). Must be able and willing to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification within 60 days of hire for positions involving alcohol service (training and associated costs will be provided and covered by the company in accordance with state law).
