Duties
Help
Assess patient cardiopulmonary status based on physical exam, pulmonary function results and laboratory data.
Interpret blood gas and pulmonary function results on test technical accuracy and logic.
Organizes and carry out asthma education for asthmatics including asthma teaching, inhaler/nebulizer instruction, and review of written asthma instructions with the family and patient.
Perform all routine technical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
Regularly set up and monitor complex respiratory therapy equipment such as volume and pressure ventilators.
Maintain department areas and equipment including packaging equipment for sterilization and disinfecting when appropriate.
