Pediatric Dental Assistant

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to work at a facility in Detroit, MI. Pay Rate: $30 / hour

Duties: Job Summary: We are looking for a Pediatric Dental Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering outstanding pediatric dental care. We pride ourselves on creating positive experience for children and families in a modern, team-oriented environment where patient comfort, safety, and quality care comes first. Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for pediatric dental procedures.
• Educate children and parents in oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Take and process dental radiographs as directed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments.
• Assist dentists chairside during dental treatments and ensure patient comfort.
• Maintain dental supply inventory and ensure instruments are properly sterilized.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, OSHA compliance, and safety standards.
• Provide reassurance and comfort to pediatric patients before, during and after treatment.

Skills: Required Skills & Experience:

• One year of hands-on experience as a Pediatric Dental Assistant.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with children and their families.
• Proficiency in routine clinical tasks such as taking x-rays, setting up/breaking down rooms, and passing instruments.

Required Education: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program. Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Possession of a valid X-ray license is required.
• CPR is required.
• Coronal Polishing certification is required.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure: Nitrous Oxide certification.
