Project Safety Professional (Thermal)

Barton Malow is seeking an experienced Project Safety Professional to exceed safety standards, conduct educational programs, ensure a secure working environment on our projects, and leverage their expertise to promote safety excellence. Travel is a must, as this position requires extended travel to project sites for successful execution of responsibilities.

Key job responsibilities include managing project safety standards to exceed customer and Barton Malow requirements, conducting safety meetings and educational programs, interfacing with labor and management representatives to discuss and resolve safety items, conducting project specific safety orientations, Toolbox Talks and all safety related meetings for all employees associated with work on the project, assisting in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe activities through interface with site personnel, including all sub-contractors, assisting with pre-job planning, auditing the process, and providing direct feedback for improvements, conducting incident investigations and submitting reports to safety leadership, participating in incident reviews with project leadership, senior safety leadership, directors, and others as needed, and documenting project safety program; including all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities.

Required knowledge, education, experience, skills, and abilities include a Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, or another related field is preferred, minimum of 4 years of Construction Safety Experience, willingness to travel for extended periods of time for project assignments is essential, this position requires shift work, which could include weekends and evenings, experience working in one or more of the following environments: Industrial Automotive Energy/Thermal Data Center, OSHA 30 Hour certification, current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, CHST certification is preferred, OSHA 500 certification and NFPA 70 E certifications are required.
