CT Technologist

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, administering x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. This position may require flexibility in shifts, including weekends, holidays, and taking call, to ensure quality patient care at assigned locations.

Responsibilities

• Execute diagnostic CT procedures efficiently.
• If designated, perform additional radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams.
• Corroborate the patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring accurate documentation for the radiologist.
• Prepare patients for procedures by providing clear instructions to ensure optimal results, foster cooperation, and alleviate anxiety.
• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to effectively carry out procedures.
• Position patients to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, ensuring comfort and safety while immobilizing as necessary.
• Practice aseptic techniques as required.
• Prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate, including starting and maintaining intravenous access.
• Initiate basic life support actions when necessary.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures and expectations.
• Contribute to supply and equipment decisions, maintaining inventory control for the assigned area.
• Offer practical instruction for students and partners.
• Observe universal protocols, standard precautions, and ensure appropriate patient identification.
• Apply principles of patient safety in all aspects of procedures, including patient assistance and transportation.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program; education verification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CT required.

Certification and Licensure

• ARRT Radiography registration required.
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration required.
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation is required.
• Current CPR or BLS certification required.

Shift Information

This position requires 4 night shifts of 9 hours each, with weekend, on-call, and holiday rotation necessary for coverage.
