Production Associate (Rotating Shifts)

Your role at Clorox Kingsford Manufacturing in Burnside, KY is a producer of 100% American-made charcoal briquets and the leading manufacturer of charcoal in the United States. The Production Associate will work in a dynamic, team-based environment to safely produce high‑quality charcoal at the correct cost. Responsibilities include receiving raw materials, operating high‑speed packaging equipment, palletizing finished products, performing quality checks, implementing improvements, and contributing to overall plant success. The starting hourly rate is $21.11. Shift differential pay for the 2nd shift is $0.65 and $0.85 for the 3rd shift. The Production Worker will receive day‑shift training for two weeks and then be deployed to rotating openings across departments and shifts based on business needs. This position requires shift flexibility and the potential for overtime. Example Shifts

Swing Shift: Monday & Tuesday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Wednesday & Thursday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Friday 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM In this role, you will The Production Associate is responsible for processing, manufacturing, packaging, storing, and distributing charcoal briquettes. The Production Worker may be assigned to any of the following areas of the plant: Retort – converting wood waste to char used in briquettes Briquetting – combining char and other raw materials to create briquettes Packaging – operating machines that package finished briquettes into bags Warehouse – storing finished bags for shipment to customers or other warehouses Essential functions include: Press control buttons to activate machinery and equipment Adjust machine function, flow, speed, and temperature controls Clean, oil, and perform minor adjustments or repairs on machinery Move materials and products between storage and work areas Pour, scoop, or dump specified ingredients into machines before operation Feed ingredients and products into machines by hand or conveyor and unload finished product Disassemble equipment for repair or part replacement Monitor the production line for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or defects Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur; clear jams and remove defective materials Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards Package product appropriately for outbound shipping Stock and sort product for packaging operation; replenish supplies Operate palletizing equipment to wrap finished products on pallets for warehouse storage or shipping Load and stack finished packages onto trucks using a forklift Operate powered industrial trucks to move materials and products around the facility, including loading finished product into trailers Adhere to all safety and quality standards, report unsafe conditions, near‑misses, and injuries Deliver against daily, weekly, and monthly production targets Leverage technology (e.g., email, production schedules, troubleshooting guides, job aids) to stay informed Enter data into computer systems and monitor instrumentation Count and record finished and rejected packaged items during operation Maintain housekeeping and workplace organization Complete routine and preventive maintenance for area equipment Maintain inventory storage areas, including participation in cycle counts or full inventory counts as needed Perform other duties as required by management Working Conditions Very hot or very cold temperatures Outdoor work, exposure to weather High noise levels Moving equipment exposure Scents and odors Repetitive gross and fine hand motions, grasping, gripping, bending hand/wrist Standing (up to 8 or 12 hours per shift) Walking (up to 8 or 12 hours per shift) Use of common protective equipment: safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats Work at heights exceeding 6 feet Indoor partially environmentally controlled space Bending, twisting or squatting Climb steps and ladders Lift and carry up to 50 lbs Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs Reach above shoulder height or perform work at or above shoulder height Sitting Specialized protective equipment as needed Work in enclosed or open vehicle or equipment Work with cutting tools What we look for Willingness and ability to learn and master new concepts across departments Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills Understanding of basic technical math and troubleshooting principles Successful completion of Clorox Fork Truck Certification as outlined by the site Fork Truck Certification Policy High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years manufacturing or related experience (e.g., automotive or diesel mechanic, construction, heavy equipment operator, machining worker) or 2 years military service working with industrial equipment Resume must be attached to be considered for an interview Additional Requirements After Receiving a Job Offer Background check and drug test Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test Fit for Duty Exam at Total Rehab Physical and hearing test Benefits we offer Competitive compensation Generous 401(k) program in the US and similar programs in international locations Health benefits and programs supporting physical and mental well‑being Flexible work environment, depending on role Meaningful opportunities to learn and grow Half‑day Fridays, depending on location Please apply directly to our job postings.
