Labor and Employment Associate - Encino

Position Title: Associate, Labor and Employment - Encino The Associate, Labor and Employment role offers a unique opportunity to support the defense of employment matters through comprehensive legal tasks. This position involves drafting motions, pleadings, discovery, conducting legal research, and managing case workflows. The associate will play a critical role in assisting with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation while serving as a primary contact for clients and agencies. The firm fosters a collaborative environment, encouraging associates to take ownership of their cases and provide practical legal guidance. Candidates should be prepared to manage a billable workload in a fast-paced setting while contributing to a positive team culture. Salary Range: $160,000 - $250,000 / Year DOE Responsibilities Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery with increasing independence Conduct legal research and develop case strategy with partner guidance Support trial preparation, including exhibits and witness preparation Manage day-to-day case workflow and deadlines Review and analyze documents to identify key facts and risks Oversee organization of case files and materials Draft and manage responses to EEOC / CRD (DFEH) complaints Attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings Attend or take/defend depositions Communicate directly with government agencies Take ownership of position statements and submissions Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients (HR, management) Advise on employment issues, investigations, and risk mitigation Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance Requirements Must have 2+ years defense side litigation with employment & labor law Experience drafting pleadings Experience writing motions Experience with discovery Experience attending (or taking) depositions JD degree Admitted to practice in California Mature and driven personality Preferred candidates will have represented employers in wrongful termination, employment discrimination and wage and hour cases Bilingual with Spanish is preferred Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage 401K with profit sharing Long-term and short-term disability coverage Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) Unlimited PTO + Holidays If you are an Associate, Labor and Employment - Encino looking to take the next step in your career, apply now! #J-18808-Ljbffr Boutique Recruiting
