We are partnering with a well-regarded law firm in the Los Angeles area to place a talented Labor & Employment Associate. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team, work on challenging and varied cases, and develop your career in a supportive environment with a clear path for growth.
About the Role
As a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group, you will collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on a wide range of employment matters, both transactional and litigation-based, representing employers across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a variety of labor and employment matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage & hour claims
- Draft and review employment agreements, policies, handbooks, and separation agreements
- Conduct legal research and analysis on evolving employment laws and regulations
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings, mediations, and hearings
- Assist with litigation including pleadings, discovery, motions, and depositions
- Provide day-to-day employment counsel to employer clients
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure seamless workflow
- Stay current on changes in California and federal employment law
Qualifications
- 2+ years of labor & employment experience at a law firm
- Active California Bar admission required
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal research platforms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Must be able to pass a background check
