Program Coordinator - Professional Education

The department of Center for Public Health Initiatives (CPHI) isseeking an Academic Program Manager to provide support andleadership for the development and management of programs andprojects related to professional education for the public healthworkforce. Professional education programs focus on people workingin public health (or similar fields) and can include skilldevelopment workshops, support for communities of practice andexperiential learning opportunities. Core responsibilities Creating and coordinating professional education (workforcedevelopment) programs and projects Applying knowledge of best practices for professionaleducation Conducting program planning and development Engaging in program implementation aligned with priorities,policies and procedures Providing training for staff and other collaborators Leading program evaluation and reporting activities Leading policy development and analysis related to professionaleducation Performing research and analysis on specific issues, asrequired Planning and implementing special projects or events KSA’s and or Competencies required to successfully perform the work Effective interpersonal and communication skills Strong collaboration skills Ability to work in fast paced environments Knowledge of best practices Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with program managementtools Strong time management skills Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stakeholders Experience in the development or coordination of professionaleducation Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification required for entry into position REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least three years of experience coordinating professionaleducation projects or programs Training in public health PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree Experience setting up new programs The person in this role translates priorities into executableprograms and independently manages implementation, stakeholderrelationships, work plans, and day-to-day decisions to achieveprogram objectives. The work requires professional judgmentinformed by researching emerging issues and analyzing data andincludes developing recommendations and resolving problems withoutclearly defined solutions (i.e., specific to programs connected todifferent partners). The position routinely communicates with public healthprofessionals, faculty, community organizations, and workforcepartners to facilitate meetings, deliver training andpresentations, and represent CPHI externally. The role alsorequires strong technology proficiency across program management,learning management, and reporting platforms, and the ability towork independently (within CPHI frameworks) while coordinating amultidisciplinary team without direct supervisory authority. The position’s schedule involves evening and weekend events,requiring flexibility beyond a standard Monday–Friday schedule.Though the position has no direct reports, it provides functionalleadership, which includes setting expectations, monitoringprogress, and ensuring deliverables are completed through influenceand collaboration. This position also contributes to the strategicgrowth of CPHI's professional education portfolio. This position requires specialized knowledge, independent judgment,professional communication, technology proficiency, and functionalleadership resulting in responsibility that goes beyond routineadministrative coordination.
