Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving company growth by developing relationships with apartment owners, development/landowners, regional managers, and asset managers throughout Virginia and North Carolina.

This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships within the multifamily industry.

Key Responsibilities - Business Development & Client Growth

• Develop relationships with multifamily property developers, property owners, ownership groups, and asset managers.
• Attend industry networking events, trade shows, apartment association meetings, and client events. (HBAR, CVBIA)
• Generate new business opportunities and maintain an active sales pipeline through networking, industry events, and relationship development, cold calling, tracking proposed Projects.
• Expand services within existing client accounts.
• Identify and develop upcoming capital improvement and renovation. New construction opportunities. Estimating, pricing, and project execution are supported by the company's preconstruction and operations teams.
• Research and analyze market trends, competitors and economic factors influencing the multifamily/Construction industry.
• Generate & Maintain list of leads for potential bid opportunities
• Persistent mind set with regards to cold calls, & setting up initial conversations
• Build & maintain relationships with clients, developers, property owners, architects, engineers, & consultants.
• Act as primary point of contact during early projects stages.
• Coordinate with preconstruction & operations to align scope, schedule, & pricing strategy.

Relationship Management

• Serve as a trusted advisor for property improvement needs.
• Respond quickly to client requests and opportunities.
• Build long-term partnerships that generate repeat business/ongoing long relationships.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for future collaboration Success Metrics
• The successful candidate will be measured by:
• New client relationships established (10-15 new client meetings per month)
• New client revenue generated
• Existing account growth (Increase growth rate on all existing accounts, Increase project size, Bulk units' renovations, Capex growth)
• Project opportunities identified (new business, attending events, measuring data points from events and opportunities, measuring and reporting on all data point that are pertinent to business development and pre-construction)
• Client retention and satisfaction, Maintain relationships with past & present clients to remain on bid list
• Ability to work and lead teams/employees within the organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of business development or related experience.
• Experience within multifamily, single family or general contracting industries.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable conducting local client meetings.
• Travel will be required to various development sites
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Ability to understand scopes and discuss construction professionally
