Payroll Manager (Part-Time) Position Overview Annual Salary: $37,000 – $43,500 Employment Status: Non-Exempt PTO: Pro‑rated for 20 hours 401(k) with 4% Employer Match Summary The Payroll Manager supports Christ Church by ensuring accurate, timely, and compassionate payroll and benefits administration. This role maintains financial stability and enables staff to focus on ministry. Essential Functions Process bi‑weekly payroll for hourly and casual employees, incorporating compensation, benefits, PTO, hires and terminations, and time‑card management. Administer benefits, communicate with carriers, manage employment verification letters, and coordinate annual open enrollment and year‑end Paycom updates. Process annual compensation, housing, and COLA increases; prepare compensation surveys. Complete ACA, TASC, Empower compliance reporting and BCBS Regulatory Data Collection; distribute year‑end W‑2s. Oversee the Accounting Assistant’s support for payroll reporting, accounts payable, open enrollment, and audit or budgeting reports. Other Key Responsibilities Ensure payroll system integrity, compliance, and utilization. Maintain accurate bi‑weekly payroll; manage ACA reporting (1095‑C, 1095‑B). Coordinate with payroll provider for timely distribution of W‑2s and required forms. Prepare bi‑weekly and month‑end reports requested by HR; process monthly HR billing. Process checks for wage garnishments and child support. Lead annual compensation surveys and administer Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability and FMLA. Prepare reports for annual external and workers’ compensation audits, budgets, and other requested reports. Process retroactive, housing and compensation adjustments. Administer benefit enrollment at hire and annually; support employees on payroll and benefits matters. Manage COBRA events, continuation letters, reactivation, and payment tracking. Ensure accuracy of 401(k), ACA, FSA, HSA benefits reporting. Participate in HRIS payroll system replacement project and migration. Coordinate and support program, event coordination, records management, and scheduling. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years in Human Resources or Payroll, with experience on multiple payroll systems. Experience in benefits administration and payroll processing across industries.
