Machinist – Experienced – Night Shift – Big Lake Location: 17465 198th Avenue NW, Big Lake, MN 55309, US (On‑site) Job Schedule: Full time Job Information Job Identification: 115905 Job Category: Operations Posting Date: 01/23/2026, 09:55 PM Job Schedule: Full time Export‑Controlled Data: This position entails access to export‑controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items Compensation & Benefits Competitive base rate: $25 to $40 per hour depending on experience 20% shift differential Overtime pay after 8 hours per day Medical/Prescription Drug/Dental/Vision benefits on Day 1 of employment 401(k) retirement savings plan 4.2% company match, plus an additional 3% (whether you contribute or not), for a max total of 7.2% annually 5% target performance pay Paid time off (PTO) 10 paid holidays per year Employee life insurance Employee assistance program Paid parental leave (up to 3 weeks of 100%‑paid leave for parental bonding) Tuition reimbursement Key Responsibilities Plan materials and determine appropriate sequences of machining and assembly operations Set up and operate machining equipment to manufacture precision parts of varying complexity Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications Follow manufacturing processes and procedures to perform machining and assembly operations Fit, align, and assemble machined components into complete assemblies Perform secondary operations such as drilling, tapping, deburring, and finishing Inspect completed parts and assemblies using precision measuring tools Verify conformance to specifications and quality requirements Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately and on time Work closely with engineering, quality, and inspection teams to meet exact requirements Troubleshoot machining or assembly issues, improve processes, and reduce scrap Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor less‑experienced machinists when needed Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent One year’s experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or production environment Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications Technical or trade school training certificate and two years’ experience, or six years’ experience Experience with 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑axis milling, turning or grinding Experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls Experience setting up and operating machine tools Intermediate ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications Proficiency with precision measurement tools (CMM, height gage, micrometers, indicators, etc.) Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment Demonstrated problem‑solving ability in a machine shop environment Experience using an ERP system About the Company Howmet Aerospace Inc.
