Civil Engineer

Amgen seeks a civil engineer to lead technical development of facility infrastructure supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and research operations. The role encompasses planning, design, renovation, and project delivery across multiple sites, requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and on-site presence.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for civil and structural design criteria, specifications, and project execution standards
- Develop and review design packages for code compliance, constructability, safety, and operational alignment
- Lead capital projects from feasibility through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover
- Coordinate across architectural, mechanical, electrical, and facility engineering disciplines for integrated solutions
- Support site assessments, construction reviews, contractor submittals, and commissioning activities through on-site engagement
Requirements
- Doctorate in civil/structural engineering, or Master's degree with 2+ years experience
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years civil/structural engineering experience, or equivalent alternative pathway
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in civil or structural engineering preferred
- Experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated facility environments preferred
- Proficiency with structural analysis and civil design software
- Knowledge of building codes, seismic evaluation, and construction-phase engineering support
