Diamond Game is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Market Development Speciliast who loves being on the open road. In your company provided vehicle, you will be responsible for growing Diamond Game's presence across the great state of Idaho. The Diamond Game Market Development Specialist is primarily responsible for driving sales and recruiting new retail sites, representing Diamond Game in the Idaho market and growing the retailer network. This role builds and maintains retailer relationships within an assigned geographic territory, meeting aggressive sales and new-site recruiting goals through extensive field travel - including extended overnight, multi-day trips - hands-on inventory control, and office-based reporting and coordination. The role involves cultivating strong retailer relationships, implementing marketing strategies, and ensuring compliance with Diamond Game/Idaho State Lottery policies to maximize sales.

 

What You'll Do

As a key member of our sales team, you will:

Sales & New-Site Recruiting (Primary Focus)

• Drive new business growth as a top priority - actively prospect, pitch, and recruit new businesses to become licensed Diamond Game retailers, with a constant focus on expanding the assigned territory and other areas of the state.
• Own the full recruiting cycle for new sites: identify prospects, present the Diamond Game value proposition, negotiate placement, and onboard new retailers to get machines live quickly.
• Proactively promote and sell new and existing lottery games and Diamond Game gaming machines to retail partners, with a focus on growing revenue at both new and existing sites.
• Act as Diamond Game's primary liaison with its Idaho Lottery retailers, using the relationship to identify both upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Focus on maximizing Paper PullTab sales across all locations by identifying retailers that could benefit from increased price points.
• Review route sales on a monthly basis, flagging sites that could support additional machines/products due to increased sales volume - and prioritizing outreach to new prospects in underserved areas.
• Ensure all TouchTab GO sites receive the training and attention needed to grow sales; periodically review site activity and follow up with sites that aren't opening tablets regularly.
• Effectively communicate retailer issues to Idaho Market Management and coordinate corrective action.
• Ensure retailers adhere to all state Lottery laws, rules, and regulations.

Travel & Field Operations

• Travel extensively throughout the assigned Idaho territory as well as other parts of the state, when needed- this role requires extended overnight travel, including regular multi-day trips.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to support extended time on the road in pursuit of new-site recruiting and account coverage.
• Safely operate a company vehicle, driving long distances in varied weather and road conditions.
• A company vehicle is provided for all route travel, and travel-related expenses (fuel, lodging, meals, etc.) are covered through a company expense account - employees are not expected to pay out of pocket.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ensure all equipment and sites are clean, professional-looking, and in proper working order; report any site needing attention to the Idaho Market Manager.

Inventory Control

• Ensure retailers maintain adequate inventory levels and clean, properly functioning equipment at all times.
• Track and reconcile inventory across the assigned route, including stock levels, machine counts, and supply needs.
• Coordinate inventory replenishment and equipment deployment with the office/warehouse team, proactively flagging shortages or surplus.

Develop and maintain a route maintenance protocol covering inventory and equipment upkeep for all Idaho Route Staff to follow.

Office & Administrative

• Maintain accurate sales data, records, and reports; complete required paperwork and data entry in a timely manner.
• Perform regular office-based work between field visits, including reporting, correspondence, and coordination with Market Management.
• Consistently demonstrate and apply Diamond Game's core values.
• Perform other tasks and duties as needed and/or requested by management.

What We're Looking for

• At least 2 years' route sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of hitting sales and new account/recruiting targets.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent sales experience preferred.
• Experience with bars, veteran/fraternal clubs, and/or lottery/casino gaming is preferred.
• Prior experience with inventory or stock management is a plus.

 

Your Knowledge & Abilities

• Must be able to take direction efficiently while working independently and as part of a team.
• Customer service experience with the ability to conduct work in a professional manner both on the phone and in person.
• Must have outstanding time management and organizational skills while working in an environment with minimal in-person supervision.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Comfortable with a travel-heavy schedule, including frequent long-distance driving and extended, multi-day overnight travel - this is a regular and expected part of the role, not an occasional occurrence.
• Self-starter with strong sales and negotiation instincts, motivated to proactively hunt for and close new retailer accounts.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized, with strong follow-through on inventory tracking and office reporting tasks.
• Must have basic knowledge of computer hardware and comfort with standard office software for reporting and data entry.
• Must have the ability and enthusiasm to sell to current customers as well as the ability and willingness to recruit new retailers to help grow the market.

 

Bonus Points if you Have

• Experience in bars, gaming, lottery, or similar industries
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

 

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
• Employment dependent on successfully passing a regulatory background and credit check.
• Employees in Idaho must also successfully pass a background check by the Idaho Lottery.
• Clean driving record and comfort driving in varied conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
• Employees may also be subject to additional periodic background checks as needed and/or required by Diamond Game and/or Diamond Game customers.
