This position plays an important role in advancing our mission and supporting the communities we serve.Job SummaryUnder direct supervision of a pharmacist, the pharmacy technician ii performs a wide variety of pharmaceutical services including medication preparation and distribution, inventory, and billing. The pharmacy technician ii is responsible for performing the majority of the technical functions in the pharmacy.Job QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentLicensed as a certified pharmacy technician by the ohio board of pharmacyMinimum of 6 months of work experience as a pharmacy technician, 2-3 years preferredBls certified or willing to become certified upon hireJob Duties & ResponsibilitiesProcess new and refill prescriptions while maintaining quality and productivity standards.Provide exceptional patient care by engaging with patients and working to meet their needs.Adhere to company, state, and federal regulations, policies, and laws, including hipaa, dea, and ohio board of pharmacy requirements.Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering appropriately and rotating stock.Maintain records for the pharmacy and ensure organization is kept up to standards for easy retrieval.Contact a prescriber or prescriber's agent to obtain clarification for a prescription order if the clarification does not require the exercise of professional judgment.Perform duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies.Check and remove outdates meds on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock.
