Job Description

Raytown, MO | Onsite Morgan Hunter is partnering with a growing Kansas City-area organization to hire an Accounting Assistant with a strong focus on payroll and accounts payable. • Processing weekly and biweekly payroll for employees with varying pay structures
• Managing accounts payable and coordinating payments to vendors and subcontractors
• Assisting with commission calculations, tracking, and payroll adjustments
• Maintaining accurate financial records and investigating discrepancies
• Supporting account reconciliations, job costing, and general accounting tasks
• Cross-training in accounts receivable and other accounting functions to provide team coverage
• Using Excel and accounting software to maintain reports and track financial information
• Responding to payroll and payment questions while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
• Hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably using an HRIS or payroll system
• Comfortable using Excel, including formulas and basic spreadsheet functions
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator who can enforce policies professionally and diplomatically
• Dependable, collaborative, and comfortable handling confidential information
• Sage, isolved, commissions, or job costing experience is a plus
