Peer Recovery Specialist - Serenity (Full Time) Location: Woonsocket, RI The Serenity Center is a Peer‑run recovery support center designed to assist individuals in navigating their personal recovery journey. Greet clients with unconditional positive regard and develop a trusting working alliance. Evaluate client needs and contribute to the development of a person‑centered recovery plan. Assist clients to access a wide array of resources—including food, clothing, hygiene products, survival items, behavioral health resources, recovery resources, emergency shelter resources, benefits and entitlements, applications for SSI/SSDI/TDI, housing resources (apartment applications, subsidized housing, universal wait list), education/employment resources, family supports, medical providers, and resolution of legal barriers. Conduct care coordination with other providers. Will run recovery groups for specialty populations such as women, LGBTQ+, veterans, BIPOC, and formerly incarcerated. Leverage personal experience to teach and role model healthy living, effective coping techniques, and self‑help strategies. Must be willing to work some late‑day, evening hours and occasional weekend hours. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not mandatory. Education and Training Required High school diploma or GED required. Must have Peer Support Certification or be willing to work toward it. Benefits Generous vacation, sick time, and holidays.
