Floor Manager — Brick Lane

Brick Lane is seeking an experienced, hands-on Floor Manager to help lead our front-of-house team in the Arts District of Los Angeles. You will be working closely with and reporting to the General Manager and Executive Chef. 

We are a modern Indian restaurant focused on bold food, thoughtful hospitality, and a polished yet energetic dining experience. The ideal candidate is a confident floor leader who understands the details of elevated service, communicates clearly, and knows how to create memorable experiences for both guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily front-of-house service
• Maintain a strong presence on the floor and anticipate guest needs
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate service priorities
• Coach servers, bartenders, hosts, runners, and bussers in real time
• Ensure steps of service, table maintenance, and fine-dining standards are followed
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team
• Manage reservations, table flow, pacing, and special requests
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and genuine hospitality
• Support opening and closing procedures
• Monitor cleanliness, organization, sidework, and overall restaurant presentation
• Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance development
• Help maintain compliance with company policies and California labor and safety requirements

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of restaurant management or floor-leadership experience
• Experience in an upscale, chef-driven, or high-volume restaurant preferred
• Strong knowledge of service standards, food, wine, spirits, and POS systems
• Calm, organized, and decisive during busy service
• Excellent communication and guest-recovery skills
• Ability to coach and hold the team accountable while maintaining a positive culture
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• ServSafe Manager certification preferred

We want a leader who notices the details: a guest waiting too long, a table that needs attention, a course that is improperly paced, or a team member who needs support. This person should lead from the floor, set the tone for the shift, and understand the difference between simply providing service and delivering genuine hospitality.

Schedule

Brick Lane is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday. The position requires evening and weekend availability.

Compensation will be based on experience.
