Lateral Associate - Tax

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Lateral Associate - Tax to join its growing tax practice in Century City. The ideal candidate will have a class-year appropriate understanding of tax law and experience in strategic and private equity M&A transactions, capital markets, investment fund formation, and real estate matters. Duties Conduct research and write on technical aspects of tax law. Engage in strategic and private equity M&A transactions. Participate in capital markets activities, including spin-offs and IPOs. Assist in investment fund formation and real estate matters. Interact directly with clients and participate in public speaking engagements. Requirements Experience with strategic and private equity M&A transactions. Familiarity with capital markets and investment fund formation. Outstanding oral communication and analytical skills. Top academic credentials. Ability to think creatively about complex problems. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction. Skills Strong research and writing abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm for client interaction and public speaking. Benefits Health care. Retirement benefits.
