Shop Mechanic

Job Overview With over 70 years of operating experience, Primoris Power Delivery services include engineering and design, installation and maintenance, material and equipment procurement, and repair of electrical transmission, distribution, substation, wireless communication, and storm restoration. Experience ranges from small consulting projects to multi‑million‑dollar turnkey distribution, substation, and transmission line programs. Position Proposition Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment assets, including vehicles, trailers, aerials, and yellow iron. Apply safety rules, hand and power tool techniques, and follow verbal and written instructions. Perform quality work as determined by project specifications and account for all tools and materials at shift end. Work in shop conditions; mobile work may be required, including overnight travel and out‑of‑state trips. Be prepared for potential overtime and dynamic work assignments. Operate safely in uneven ground, confined areas, high elevations, outdoor climates, and potentially hazardous environments. Utilize electronic diagnostic equipment to make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline, and diesel systems. Educational & Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED. Two‑year technical, vocational, or trade school diploma or degree in auto, truck, or heavy equipment preferred. Fluid Power Society and/or ASE certifications preferred. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Minimum five years verifiable experience in automotive/truck maintenance. High awareness of safety and compliance with company rules. Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. Compliance with client site safety requirements (e.g., clean shaven, long sleeves, steel‑toe boots). Compliance with safety equipment requirements (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard). Benefits Competitive weekly compensation.
