A Staff Accountant at MRPR will work on a variety of accounting, attest, and tax engagements with start-ups, growth stage, and owner operated companies. Participate in the preparation of client engagements, including workpapers, financial statements and tax returns; deliver timely quality service and product; communication on engagement progress; and gain understanding of MRPR clients, services, industries, and deliverables. Prepare accurate deliverables. Deliverables would include workpapers pertaining to assurance engagements, monthly account reconciliations and tax returns; preparation of financial statements and tax returns; process payroll, client month end close; and the application of tax and GAAP standards. Demonstrate professional, clear communications. Build long‑term relationships with MRPR team members and clients; attention to detail and deadlines; and demonstrate professional listening and communication skills. Support service delivery team. Work with and support engagement teams on providing quality accounting, assurance, and tax services in a timely manner. Create career goals and objectives. Understands performance expectations; receives instruction and support from team members; and works efficiently to complete tasks accurately and timely. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent. Working towards or achievement of 150 credit hours, is a plus. CPA license, actively pursuing, or interest in obtaining, is a plus. Prior internship or professional work experience, is a plus. Proficient in QuickBooks software, is a plus. Ability to work in a team environment or independently. Strong written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of: Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat. Public accounting firm software applications, is a plus.
