** About the Role: **

We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist I to support purchasing and supply management activities for our client in Chicago, IL. The Procurement Specialist I will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

** Key Responsibilities: **

• Create and process purchase orders (POs) for assigned categories.
• Support purchase order approvals within delegated authority limits.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve purchasing and invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and performance.
• Assist with supplier performance tracking and reporting.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous process improvements.
• Assist in preparing bid documents, quotations, and routine sourcing activities.
• Provide administrative support for procurement projects and small-scale RFPs.
• Educate internal stakeholders on procurement tools, policies, and procedures.

** Qualifications: **

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain is preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

** Preferred Qualifications: **

• Experience with procurement or ERP systems such as SAP or Fieldglass.
• Basic knowledge of supplier management and contract administration.
• Understanding of sourcing and category management principles.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
