Facility University Medical Center of El Paso Department AntePartum Schedule - Shift - Hours Full Time - Nights - 1900-0700 Job Summary Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Skills Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills. Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions. Work Experience Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required, preferably in a hospital-based acute care setting. License/Registration/Certification Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required. Current CPR training is required. Current ACLS obtained within 6 months of being in the department for critical care, Labor and Delivery and Antepartum areas. Current NPR training obtained within 6 months of being in the department is required for the following areas: Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum. Current PALS training obtained within 6 months of being in the department is required for the following areas: Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, Emergency, Endoscopy, Operating Room, Recovery and Urgent Care. Education and Training Bachelor degree in Nursing is required. May consider ADN, but must obtain BSN within three years from date of hire. TNCC or ATCN training obtained within 1 year of being in the department is required for the following areas: Emergency, ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Recovery and Urgen Care areas. Completion of CPI training obtained within 1 year of being in the department is required for the Emergency and Urgent Care. ENPC training obtained within 1 year of being in the position is required for the Emergency and Urgent Care. Not the right fit?
