Mental Health Associate serves as an active member of the clinical staff; maintains a therapeutic relationship with all patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; assures patient participation in program activities; and performs technical/patient care duties relative to patient's health and safety. This position is available for the following shifts: Child Unit: 7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-11p, 7p-7a.
Job duties/responsibilities include knowing the location and condition of all patients at all times, ensuring proper hand off of clinical information, performing safety checks daily and as needed per guidelines, managing a group of patients in outside activities, assisting in management of behavior and control of destructive behavior per facility guidelines, recognizing signs of impaired social interaction and motivating patients toward desired cooperation, and teaching alternatives to destructive behavior.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, some college preferred, no experience required, direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting preferred, current CPR certification, excellent verbal communication skills, ability to participate in a treatment team environment, and consistently demonstrate all Service Excellence Standards.
