CNC Machinist

Job Title: Machinist Job Description
The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting various types of conventional and automatic machines, including CNC machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other precision equipment. This role may also involve assisting Manufacturing Team Members in the setup of machines.
Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of setups and operations on CNC machines.
• Write and edit programs to meet overall requirements.
• Operate machines with 2-5 axes, including Horizontals, Verticals, lathes, and Integrex.
• Read drawings and prints to create parts.
• Handle multiple machine changeovers per shift in custom machining.
• Use micrometers and calipers to check the quality of parts.
• Handle changeovers independently and understand CNC machine logic.
• Write basic programs, post-edit CNC programs, and troubleshoot errors.
• Set up jobs, run jobs, and inspect parts.
• Detect and replace worn tools as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in CNC programming.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to perform CNC setups and machining.
• Knowledge of G-Codes and G&M Codes.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• Experience with lathe machines and tooling.
• Familiarity with Mazak, Haas, and Fanuc machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC machining experience or a CNC tech degree.
• Experience with machines such as HAAS, MORI SEIKI, MAZAK, BROTHERS, MITSUBISHI, and BRIDGEPORTS.
• High School Diploma or Trade School for CNC preferred.

Work Environment
The work environment is clean and climate-controlled. The position is on the third shift, working Sunday through Wednesday from 7pm to 5:30am, with potential work on Thursday nights. The company employs a total of 125 people and specializes in the production of power clamps and manual clamps.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Juliet, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
