What will you be doing?

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and guests, responding to inquiries, answering calls, relaying information, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the event planning process.

Coordinate and manage event details with clients, ensuring all event requirements, changes, and expectations are accurately documented and communicated in a timely manner.

Prepare, maintain, and distribute event documentation, including Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), resumes, client correspondence, and other event-related materials necessary for successful execution.

Maintain and update event management and sales systems, ensuring accurate records of client communications, event details, and operational requirements.

Serve as a liaison between clients, sales managers, and operational departments, facilitating communication and ensuring all event specifications are properly executed.

Assist in the planning and booking of meetings and events, including coordinating in-house meetings and supporting revenue-generating opportunities.

Utilize sound judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve client concerns, event challenges, and operational issues while balancing guest satisfaction and hotel profitability.

Maintain detailed knowledge of hotel meeting and event spaces, including room capacities, setup configurations, turnaround times, and service capabilities.

Support guest satisfaction and client retention efforts through proactive follow-up, post-event communication, appreciation initiatives, and attention to special requests.

Participate in required meetings, maintain departmental records and administrative functions, adhere to company and brand standards, and perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.

What do you bring to the role?

High school diploma required; a college degree in hospitality, business, event management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent hotel sales or event planning experience preferred.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally handle guest, client, and employee concerns while providing effective solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and maintain professional telephone etiquette.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; experience with Marriott systems, including CI/TY, is preferred.

Strong organizational and multi-project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Basic mathematical skills required to calculate room blocks, event costs, estimated checks, and other event-related metrics.

Working knowledge of event planning fundamentals, including food and beverage operations, audio-visual requirements, room setups, and menu planning preferred.

Ability to learn and effectively communicate information regarding hotel facilities, meeting spaces, guest rooms, menus, and event services, including conducting property tours.

Ability to utilize computer systems accurately, maintain records, and perform administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, attend required meetings, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, and moving throughout the property as needed.
