Forklift Operator/Material Handler

About the Role This position works directly with customers to pull, stage, and load building materials accurately and efficiently. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position supporting our yard and retail operations. What you’ll be doing: Assisting customers by pulling orders and loading materials into vehicles and trucks Safely operating forklifts and handling materials in a busy yard environment Working on your feet approximately 90% of the day Consistently lifting, carrying, and moving materials 50+ lbs Working outdoors and in the warehouse in all weather conditions Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicating clearly with team members and customers to ensure accuracy What We’re Looking For This role is best suited for someone who: Is dependable and shows up ready to work every day Is comfortable with physical labor throughout the entire shift Can work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Values teamwork and takes pride in doing the job right the first time Follows safety guidelines at all times Preferred Experience Forklift operation Material handling or lumber yard experience Warehouse or construction-related work Physical & Work Environment Continuous standing, walking, lifting, and carrying Frequent lifting of 50+ lbs Outdoor yard and warehouse setting Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and rain Our Culture At Southern Lumber, we value: Honesty and integrity Attention to detail Teamwork and accountability A strong work ethic Open to already local candidates only.
