Field Service Engineer 2

Overview As the Field Service Engineer 2, you will perform preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs on our life‑changing medical equipment (X‑ray, Vascular, MRI) within a hospital or healthcare system in the Corpus Christi, TX area. This is a remote role that requires onsite work at customer locations and occasional home‑office work. Candidates must be able to work in the Corpus Christi, TX area. Responsibilities Perform installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on a variety of GE Precision Healthcare medical imaging systems, including MRI, CT, X‑ray, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine equipment. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, using advanced troubleshooting techniques and schematics. Conduct thorough testing and performance verification of repaired systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to customers, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly and professionally. Manage service calls and schedules efficiently to maximize equipment uptime and meet customer expectations. Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent. Adhere to all GE Precision Healthcare and customer safety protocols and procedures. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with new product releases and service technologies. Collaborate effectively with sales, applications, and support teams to address customer needs and improve overall service delivery. Identify and report potential product issues or improvements to relevant internal teams. Qualifications Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent military experience. 4 years of experience servicing electronic equipment with an associate degree, or 6 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma/GED. Technical capabilities in multi‑modality systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and installation. Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience servicing complex medical imaging equipment, preferably GE Precision Healthcare products. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical, and software‑related issues on sophisticated medical devices. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and management. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field‑based environment. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Experience with web applications and Microsoft Office suite. Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; we will not sponsor visas. Availability after hours and/or on a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction. Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions for extended periods. Availability to travel within the assigned territory and work flexible hours, including on‑call rotations and occasional weekends/evenings as required. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards related to medical device servicing (e.g., FDA, ISO). Special Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted; frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods. Reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck with good hand and finger dexterity.
