Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year of specialty experience required; charge experience preferred. License: West Virginia/Compact RN License required. Certifications: BLS (must be AHA); acute care rehab preferred. Must-Have: Ability to work every other weekend; no call requirement; open to accommodating block schedule requests; proof of flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only). Description: The role involves providing nursing care in a rehabilitation setting. This unit is designed for patients recovering from cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases. Each patient has a care team that collaborates on their plan of care. Patients typically receive therapy for 3 hours a day, Monday through Friday. The average length of stay is around 2 weeks. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:6 during night shifts. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork and communication within the care team. The ideal candidate will possess skills in acute inpatient rehabilitation and have experience with a variety of medical conditions. Patient care includes management of complex diagnoses such as SCI, TBI, stroke, amputation, and neuromuscular disorders. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols and actively engaging in patient education and teaching. Additional responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, performing assessments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. The role may require floating to different areas within the scope of practice as needed. Candidates must have proven references and a clean licensure history.
