Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for a Night Shift RN in Cardiac Care!

Job Description:
- Shift: 12 hour nights
- Department: CVU
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Candidate Radius Rule: 50 miles
- Driver's License: Required at submission
- Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments - refusal to remove will lead to termination of contract.
- Exam Requirement: RN's must pass/open book exam during orientation; 90% needed to pass.
- Unit Capacity: 18 beds
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:3 for post-surgical patients in the first 24 hours.
- Common Diagnoses/Patient Types:
- Intermediate care patients
- Downgraded CVICU patients
- Strong focus on thoracic program, EP, cath lab, structural heart
- Cardiac and vascular related diagnoses including CVAs, CHF, and A fib RVR
- Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year with the specified patient population.
- Drip Management: RN's are required to titrate drips:
- Common titratable & set rate drips: Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, etc.
- Charge Nurse Availability: Yes, with rare assignment during shifts.
- Support Staff:
- Patient care techs available at a ratio of 1:18.
- Hospitalist & Intensivist in-house 24/7.
- RT and cardiac monitoring support available.
- Tele/Monitor Techs: Remote tele techs available; RN's must interpret their own strips.
- Scheduling:
- Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700
- Schedule managed by supervisor; no block or self-scheduling.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
- Floating Requirements: Must float to same level and lower acuity settings.
- Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.
- Orientation: Tailored; typically 1-2 shifts based on experience.
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Charting System: EPIC
- BSN Required: No
- License to Submit: Yes
- Trauma Level: 1
- Care Setting: Acute
