Director of Operations (Law Firm)

Director of Operations Location: Sacramento, CA (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

Established law firm seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Operations to lead and scale the firm's operational infrastructure. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on optimizing systems, processes, and personnel to support firmwide growth and deliver exceptional client service. You'll collaborate directly with the executive team and department heads to ensure operational excellence across all non-legal functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee daily operations including HR, IT, facilities, and client services.

Build and optimize infrastructure to support litigation and intake growth.

Streamline case handling, client intake, and administrative workflows.

Supervise department managers and drive a culture of performance and accountability.

Manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and negotiate vendor contracts.

Oversee legal tech initiatives and case management platform optimization

Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and privacy regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).

7-10+ years of operations leadership experience in a law firm or similar professional services environment.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a high-volume setting.

Strong background in process improvement, budgeting, and technology integration.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
