Fabrication Lead

S1 Fabrication Lead - 2nd Shift

Great Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrication Lead for our S1 facility. This position will work M-Th from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. with overtime on Fridays, as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment
• Monitor and manage safety, productivity, delivery, and the quality of fabricated products
• Supervise, coach, mentor, train and promote career path opportunities to team members
• Conduct performance reviews with team members
• Generate check fixtures, pride implements, and demonstrate basic understanding of press brake programming
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
• Monitor fabrication tasks and recommend quality improvement initiatives to the Fabrication Manager
• Aggressively pursue production due dates and the completion of hot parts

Qualifications:

• One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance/procedure manuals; write correspondence
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Computer proficiency in word processing, Internet, email, spreadsheets, and other software
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
