Staff Accountant

Job Description The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations of a growing manufacturing company. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month‑end close activities, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting and analysis efforts. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute in a hands‑on environment where continuous improvement and teamwork are highly valued. Worksite Location This onsite position is located in the Minneapolis Metro Area. Salary Range $75,000 - $85,000/year base salary. Roles & Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journal entries. Complete monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes. Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed. Assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing‑related financial reporting. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet accounts. Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules. Assist with sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements. Prepare schedules and support documentation for annual audits. Assist with financial analysis and special projects. Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience preferred. ERP system experience preferred.
