AR/Billing Clerk
Location: Rydal, GA
General Responsibilities: Prepare customer invoices, monitor customer accounts, maintain accounts receivable (A/R) records, and index and scan drivers' trip paperwork.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Prepare and email customer invoices using computer records and trip packets submitted by drivers. Verify the accuracy and completeness of all information, including bills of lading, rates, routing, and additional charges. Calculate and update weekly fuel surcharges based on the Department of Energy's weekly average.
- Reconcile short payments or invoice discrepancies reported by the Payroll/Cash Receipts Clerk. Work directly with customers to resolve these issues.
- Research and process customer claims and deductions.
- Review the A/R aging report weekly to identify overdue invoices and accounts requiring collection follow-up. Contact customers as needed.
- Prepare and distribute detailed weekly accounts receivable reports.
- Maintain the Excel rate file with accurate rate agreements for all customers. Work with the Sales Department to ensure the correct information is on file for mileage calculations and fuel surcharges.
Experience: Relevant experience is a plus. Duties also include filing, research, scanning, collections, account management, and bad debt management.
