Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) - Urgent Care
Location: Chula Vista, CA
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Saturdays only, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (8 hours per week). Must be available for a full week of training, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Hours per Week: 8
Candidate Pay Rate: $55.26 - $38.68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and specimen collection from patients of all ages
- Verify patient identities and ensure proper labeling of specimens
- Use medical terminology to accurately document and process lab orders
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following infection control protocols
- Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients
- Collaborate with urgent care team to ensure efficient patient flow
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Current California State Phlebotomy Licensure
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- 1-2 years of medical laboratory experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (preferred)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Proficient in medical terminology
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent

- Phlebotomy techniques and best practices
- Medical terminology and laboratory processes
- California State Phlebotomy regulations
- CPR certification
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent patient communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
