Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population served on the assigned units. The RN aims to ensure high-quality care is delivered efficiently and safely, adhering to unit standards. The role involves demonstrating effective clinical practices while treating staff, patients, and families with respect and consideration.

Responsibilities

• Meet applicable competencies related to self-leadership and awareness within the healthcare environment.
• Conduct initial assessments and establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Systematically re-assess patients to monitor progress and identify trends necessitating intervention.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that are measurable and reflect Nursing Standards of Care.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on fact interpretation and patient outcome evaluations, modifying care plans as needed.
• Engage in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate care plans for effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Requirements

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current knowledge and skills relevant to the care required for the specific patient population.
• Awareness and sensitivity to patients' rights in delivering care.
• Clear and concise communication tailored to the developmental age of patients.

Experience

• Newly hired nurses with two or fewer years of experience will start at a designated entry-level status.
• New hires may be considered for advanced clinical ladder levels based on relevant experience in the clinical area, national professional nursing certification, and additional nursing education.

Certifications/Licenses

• Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is highly preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other weekend rotation.

Additional Requirements

• Floating to various locations within multiple facilities may be required.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC, is preferred.
• The dress code consists of pewter or charcoal grey scrubs.
